Dovercourt Housing Co-operative consists of 40 semi-detached townhouse units, including 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, and 4-bedroom homes, as well as a dedicated community center for members’ use.
Each unit features a private, fenced backyard, a basement with washer and dryer hookups, and at least one designated parking space. While most driveways accommodate one vehicle, some are long enough to fit two smaller cars.
All homes are heated with natural gas furnaces, and residents rent gas water heaters directly from the utility provider. This setup helps keep heating costs low and energy use efficient. Recent upgrades include new doors and windows throughout the co-op, further improving energy efficiency and comfort.
Members are responsible for supplying their own major appliances, including a fridge, stove, washer, and dryer. When a unit is vacated, outgoing members often choose to sell their appliances to incoming members through private arrangements. In such cases, the Membership Committee will facilitate the exchange of contact information to allow both parties to coordinate directly.
All members are expected to maintain their units in good condition. This includes regular cleaning, painting, lawn care, snow removal, and routine tasks such as changing furnace filters.
